Practice Over Summer Break

I’ve been thinking lately about how I should continue to improve my interpreting skills over the summer break. In the fall, I’ll be taking Interpreting 3 and Interactive Interpreting, so I want to make sure I don’t arrive in August with an obvious backslide. Here are some regular plans I’ve developed and workshops I’m registered to attend:

  1. Looks like you are settling into a programme of professional development which will continue past graduation and into your career as a working interpreter.

    1. Here’s hoping. I can’t imagine entering a profession and only doing it here and there and hoping to be good at it, especially when you can harm the consumers if you don’t. Also, like any second language, I will lose my progress if I don’t keep practicing.
